Oxfam in partnership with COCOF, DUHAMIC-ADRI, and DUTERIMBERE ONG, has been implementing a 4-year project entitled “Sustainable Livelihoods in Horticulture Value Chains (2020-2024)”. The project was funded by the European Union to unlock the potential of Rwanda’s horticultural value chains (HVC), to sustainably supply safe and high-quality products to the local, regional, and international markets. The HVC Project was implemented in four districts of Rwanda, namely Nyagatare, Kamonyi, Rulindo, and Nyamagabe.
Therefore, as a way of measuring the performance of the HVC Project during its final year and updating the project log frame with respect to the project's outcomes and indicators, on March 7th, 2024, Oxfam GB and The Result Consult Co. Ltd. signed a contract aiming to carry out an annual assessment for the HVC Project. This assessment was carried out in the four aforementioned districts of Rwanda. Again, the exercise sought to assess the current economic and social situation of the targeted direct beneficiaries and measure progress for identified performance indicators. Above all, the management of the service provider promised and delivered quality qualitative and quantitative data that would be highly used during end-line evaluation and by multiple stakeholders.
The signed agreement is in line with the firm’s mission, which is to promote research and mobilize resources for better change. The firm envisioned to create a databank of possible, innovative, and impact-driven project ideas based on research findings.
